CHT makes the best power supply and air conditioning designs using industry-leading technology to provide its customers efficient and reliable colocation services.
Power supply
Our data center uses TaiPower’s two-feeder power supply, and the systems (such as UPS and air conditioning) in the data center use a loop power supply to avoid mutual influence in case of electric barriers. During wiring, the power supply, network, and water pipes shall be isolated to ensure security.
The double-loop UPS is used for cabinets and can provide a full-load power supply for more than 15 minutes in case of power failure. Therefore, there is sufficient time to start the backup power system. The backup power system mainly consists of diesel generator sets and large independent oil storage tanks, which can provide an emergency power supply for more than 24 hours to ensure continuous electricity in the data center, leaving the sustainable operation uninterrupted. All mechanical/electrical facilities are designed based on N+1 backup—that is, there is at least a backup facility among all mechanical and electrical facilities. The actual operation availability of the data center is above 99.995%.

Cooling system
In terms of the data center’s internal environment, the IDC dedicated a high-sensible-heat, double-cold-source, and double-water-source backup air conditioning system in the data center to ensure the smooth operation of hosts and extend the service life of the equipment. Further, the backup air conditioning—with a water-cooled chiller, water cooling tower, and emergency exhaust system—is equipped and supplemented by the water leakage and centralized monitoring system to monitor the changes in the data center’s internal environment at any time.
