We are committed to providing stable and secure colocation services in compliance with the strictest laws and regulations. We also make sure to develop complete management methods for all data centers and verify and improve data center standards through third-party notary organizations.

TIA-942 Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centers
TIA-942 Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Data Centers is jointly issued by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). It is the first international technical specification with internet data centers as the targets, including specific technical requirements and specifications for system architectures, function indicators, design concepts, construction methods, and acceptance standards. Further, this establishes the industry standards, defines the evaluation level of internet data centers, and provides designers with comprehensive requirements and guidance on building structures, air conditioning, power supply, and telecommunications of internet data centers.
To build an international data center in line with the TIA-942 standard, highly professional knowledge and practical experience are required in every stage—from evaluation to planning, construction, verification, and maintenance. CHT Taipei IDC, the first data center that acquired TIA-942 Rated 3 certification in Taiwan, is the brainchild and the best proof of our professional abilities.

Uptime Institute M&O Data Center Maintenance Certification
CHT Taipei IDC is the first data center to acquire the Uptime Institute M&O (Management and Operations Stamp of Approval) certification in Taiwan. Unlike a simple design, construction, and written verification, M&O focuses more on the operation verification of the data center infrastructure maintenance system and how management and front-line personnel realize the effectiveness of risk management and continuous maintenance. The verification scope is more than 100 items, such as staffing & organization, maintenance, training, planning coordination & management, and operating conditions, in 5 categories of 19 topics.

SOC Report: service organization control report
SOC Report is a form developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), aiming to verify the security control and effectiveness of the services provided by service organizations through external audits. CHT Banqiao IDC has acquired two reports: SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2. SOC 1 focuses on internal control related to financial statements, while SOC 2 focuses on organizational compliance and risk control. Unlike Type 1 as the design verification, which only verifies a single point in time, Type 2 acts as the execution verification. For safety and availability of this audit, the operation and control mechanism design, implementation, and execution effectiveness in a certain period are confirmed to verify that the service and the system have protective mechanisms for unauthorized access behaviors and that their operations are maintained stable as promised.

PCI DSS
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is a global information security standard for processing the top 5 credit card brands, namely Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Japan Credit Bureau (JCB). Any organization storing, processing, or transmitting payment and cardholder data is required to comply with PCI DSS to strengthen cardholder data control and reduce credit card fraud. CHT Banqiao IDC and Fuguo IDC acquire PCI DSS certifications—that is, customers can build dedicated services or applications using the infrastructure provided by these IDC data centers to store, process, or transmit cardholder data.

ISO 27001 Information Security Management System and ISO 27011 Additional Audit Table
CHT is Taiwan’s first telecommunications company to introduce ISO 27001 and ISO 27011 information and communication security management mechanisms throughout the whole branch process. After years of preparation, the CHT Data Communication Branch passed the British Standards Institution (BSI) audit, an international certification body, as scheduled in November 2011. Furthermore, it obtained the international certificates of “ISO/IEC 27001 information security management system” and NCC “ISO/IEC 27011 additional audit table” in June 2012. In September 2012, its verification scope was expanded to administrative, business, technical departments, and data centers, covering all business and service systems, including IDC services, network maintenance, accounting, and e-commerce value-added services. Effective control mechanisms were established for network control, data center access, or even confidential data destruction.

ISO 14001 International Standards for Environmental Management Systems and ISO 50001 Energy Management System
The energy management system focuses on energy performance, efficiency, and conservation. Based on the self-developed iEN-intelligent environmental service system, we installed digital electric meters in the whole region to timely monitor the power and energy consumption of each data center and building. In addition, we took the data as the basis for continuous improvement. International accreditations not only demonstrate CHT’s investment in energy management tool development but also show our determination for energy conservation and carbon reduction.

LEED Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
LEED is a green building rating certification system established by the U.S. Green Building Council to evaluate sustainable building performance, with the rated items including 7 major indicators: permanent sites, water utilization efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation and design process, and regional priority. To fulfill its commitment to sustainable environmental development, CHT includes certification standards during the construction of new data centers. Those with high energy efficiency below PUE 1.5 are key indicators.
